The Ginny & John Elam Environmental Center at Camp Ken-Jockety is
a facility dedicated to providing natural science, arts and recreation,
outdoor skills and teambuilding programs to Girl Scouts, school groups
and other youth-based organizations.
The Elam Center is known for programs that use the natural environment
to foster leadership skills, to build self confidence and to develop
respect for the interdependence of all living things. Each participant
in an Elam program will learn and grow from her experience.
The Elam Center offers a variety
of programs and special events for Girl Scouts
year-round. Pick-A-Programs are designed as troop programs that you
schedule at a time and date that is convenient for you, while special
events take place throughout the year for specific age groups.Program
opportunities can be found in the latest issue of myGSOH.
Whether your troop is working on
a specific Girl Scout Journey or badge, or simply wants to participate
in a new or familiar fun activity, our Pick-A-Program options offer
flexibility and many choices so that you can customize your program to
meet your group's specific interests. You may also wish to view the programs calendar for information about upcoming events.
In addition to our Girl Scout program offerings,
we also have activities for Boy Scouts, school groups, youth groups and
birthdays. Please contact us for more information about these programs.
The Elam Center and Camp Ken-Jockety have a
number of options for volunteering. All of our special events require
the help of Girl Scout volunteers age 11 & up and our summer Day
Camp is run entirely by volunteers. We do have occasional job
opportunities, especially during the summer camp season. Please download
the opportunities information sheet for more information.
If you are interested in seasonal Resident Camp employment, please visit the Resident Camp page.
