We held our 2013 Annual Meeting and Girl Scout Gold Award Pinning Ceremony on April 18, 2013, at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Columbus. Girl Scouts age 14 and above were invited to attend the Annual Meeting at which the council elected new members of the board of directors, including two girl members, new board development committee members, and 10 girl-at-large representatives. We also recognized our exemplary volunteers and girl members for their contributions and accomplishments. For 2013, we introduced a new recognition for service units successfully nominating at least one volunteer for a council-approved recognition. The U ROCK award for Recognizing Our Council Keepers was a big success, with 27 service units completing the requirements. Read our adult recognitions booklet. This year, 12 of our 2013 Girl Scout Gold Award recipients participated in our Gold Award Pinning Ceremony, held just prior to our Annual Meeting. The accounts of their projects, read during the ceremony, were truly inspiring. Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland is proud of all 17 of this year's Gold Award recipients.
