In 2012, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) marks a century of Girl Scouting! The Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council (GSOH) kicked off our celebration during the 11th annual Leaders for Tomorrow fundraising breakfast on Friday, December 2, 2011, at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Columbus.
Leaders for Tomorrow gave Central Ohioans the opportunity to learn more about the Girl Scouts' 100-year-old mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, and hear the inspiring stories of girls and adult volunteers who are living out the mission every day.
In addition, Susan Tomasky, immediate past president of AEP Transmission and chairwoman of the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council's 100th Anniversary Honorary Board, and GSOH President and Board Chair, Lauren Warren, a vice president at Limited Brands, spoke during the event.
Thank you to our 100th Anniversary Presenting Sponsor, American Electric Power; Major Sponsor, Chase; and Supporting Sponsors, Mills James, Nationwide Insurance, and Park National Bank. Thanks also go to our Event Chair, Mindy Price, our Steering Committee, Debbie Long and Pat Yannitti, and all of our Table Captains. You've made a great difference in the lives of girls in central Ohio.
