Girl Scout Sunday and Girl Scout Sabbath

Dear Friends,

As part of Girl Scout Week March 10-16, 2013, we will observe:

Girl Scout Sunday, Sunday, March 10
and
Girl Scout Sabbath, Saturday, March 16


Congregations, girls, and volunteers can use the following materials to help their religious organizations recognize girl members and adult volunteers involved in Girl Scouting during Girl Scout Week:

• A bulletin insert PDF that can be copied on colored paper and distributed in the bulletin.
• A slide to be shown during observances
• A list of ideas of ways congregations can recognize Girl Scouts during services, including showing one of our videos
• A script of a speech to deliver during services
• A paragraph you can insert into your bulletin if you prefer not to run copies of the half-page insert

Now more than ever, we thank you for helping us address the challenges facing today’s girls. Working together, we can help girls build strong moral values and the courage, confidence, and character to make our world a better place.

Girls from every faith are welcome in Girl Scouting, and since our founding more than 100 years ago, Girl Scouts have enjoyed the support of faith-based organizations that partner with us to enrich the spiritual lives of girl members.

We thank you for joining the millions of girls and adult volunteers throughout the world who celebrated the strong moral values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and the shared values of the faith-based community.

Girl Scout Cookie Program Walkabout Week

March 10-16 is also our Cookie Walkabout Week for girls participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. This is a great way to boost girls' sales, while returning to the tradition of door-to-door cookies-in-hand neighborhood sales. Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Day

With March 12 the 101st Girl Scout Birthday, we've declared March 12 is also Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Day! And to boost the cookie craving in our council, we’re partnering with several Columbus-area restaurants to pilot this delicious day which commemorates 101 years of Girl Scouts and 95 years of the Girl Scout Cookie Program! Learn more, and plan your trips to our restaurant partners.
