COSI Camp-In 2012 Program Assistant Needed!
Becoming a COSI Camp-In Program Assistant is a great leadership opportunity for girls ages 14 and up. Program Assistants serve as volunteers at the COSI Camp-In programs at COSI Columbus. Celebrate Engineering Week 2012 at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA!
Girl Scouts are invited to the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh on Sat., Feb. 18, 2012 to celebrate Engineering Week with the Society of Women Engineers. This is a great travel opportunity for girls! Experience 40 amazing engineering exhibits featuring presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on engineering activities as part of the admission to the Carnegie Science Center - all for only an $8 fee! Girl Scouts can earn two patches during their visit (with an additional cost of $2 per patch); the Society of Women Engineers will present 'Women Engineering the Future' from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and a patch will be given to all participants. For Girl Scout Cadettes and Girl Scout Seniors, the 'Building a Better Future' patch can be earned by visiting the engineering tables at the museum. Register today! Dr. Seuss’s Seusstastical Birthday Bash!
All Girl Scouts and their families/friends are invited to the Palace Theatre in Columbus on Sat., Mar. 3, 2012 to Dr. Seuss’s Seusstastical Birthday Bash! The adventure will include a character meet and greet, autograph session, photo opportunity, story time, snack, and small souvenir for each child. Following the birthday bash, there will be a unique opportunity to experience a live performance of Suessical the Musical. For details, check out the flier.
NEW AT THE ZOO! Animal Habitats at the Zoo
Girl Scout Juniors can earn the new Animal Habitats badge at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Sat., Mar. 17, 2012. Two sessions to choose from: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. For more details, see page 16 of the Winter myGSOH. To register for this event, visit the Columbus Zoo website.
Good Turn Day
Girl Scouts are encouraged to collect household goods to donate and support participating Goodwill locations on Sat., Mar. 24, 2012. The mission of the Goodwill is to build independence, quality of life, and work opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers. Each Girl Scout that donates to a participating Goodwill will receive a special 100th Girl Scout Anniversary Good Turn Day patch. For details and participating locations, check out the flier.
