The goal of TECHie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest oin technology as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations. STEM Camps at MathPlus Academy
Check out the great camp opportunities at MathPlus Academy in New Albany and Powell this summer. Topics include robotics, engineering, computer programming, and video game design. A few camps are designated for Girl Scouts only, but girls can go to any camp they choose. You must register for the Girl Scout camps through Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland. See your current myGSOH or CORA to register. Costs for the Girl Scout camps are offered at a reduced rate, please contact MathPlus Academy to determine the rate for other camps.
Girl Scout Camp Out with the Columbus Clippers
Join the Columbus Clippers on Jul. 12, 2013 for an exclusive event just for Girl Scouts and their families. Enjoy pre-game activities, participate in the Girl Scout parade, watch the game, and then camp out on the field at Huntington Park. Camp out includes a movie, snack, and breakfast. A game-only option is also available, see the flier for pricing information. Girl Scout Brownies through Girl Scout Ambassadors can get started on the Athlete badge for their grade level and are able to stay overnight. Girl Scout Daisies are invited to come for the game only. Deadline Extended for our first Girl Scout TECHie Camp
August 5-9, 2013 at Council Headquarters in Columbus (Franklin Co) Free for Girl Scouts.
TECHie Camp is a full-day, week-long technology experience for Girl Scouts in grades 3-5. Through fun and engaging experiences with Alice, a 3D programming environment developed by Carnegie Mellon, and Scratch, a programming environment specifically developed for young students by MIT, students will learn how to create their own games, interactive stories, and art. Applications should be submitted prior to June 30, 2013. Students will be selected based on their application (10 points), essay (60 points) and letter of recommendation (30 points). The typical fee of $350 is generously sponsored by the Women's Fund of Central Ohio, so don't miss this one of a kind opportunity! All participants must be currently registered Girl Scouts, for the cost of the $12 membership fee. If you are not registered, please use our online member registration.
