Religious Recognitions
Grades 2-12

We, the members of Girl Scouts of the United States of America, (are) united by a belief in God….
We believe that the motivating force in Girl Scouting is a spiritual one.
~ Preamble, Constitution of Girl Scouts of the United States of America

Religious recognition programs have been created by national religious organizations/committees. The programs encourage girls and young women to become more active members in their own religious groups while encouraging spiritual development by providing specific religious instruction. Recognitions or pins are offered that may be worn on the official Girl Scout uniform.

Workbooks are available in the Girl Scout Resource Store.

For more information about specific religious recognitions, download the To Serve God brochure.

The Programs of Religious Activities with Youth organization, or P.R.A.Y., offers several resources for Girl Scouts and volunteers, including handouts, scripts, and presentaion materials at their website
