Troop Camp Certification (#2003)
Cost: $8 - All In One Day Course       $25/person - All In One Overnight with Girls
Time: 11 hours

Prerequisites: Must be a currently registered Girl Scout member who has completed the application and background check processes and Safety Essentials (#3100).

This course must be completed by at least one adult (not necessarily the troop leader) before a troop can go camping. It is the troop's camp-certified adult's responsibility to attend pre-camp preparatory meetings with the girls. The adult helps the girls prepare for the camping experience and then accompanies them on the camping trip.

The Troop Camp Certification series includes:

* Prestudy Workbook: This home study course is sent when you register for Planning and Prep.
*  Planning and Prep Course: This course walks you through the planning process for camping, overnights, and adventures outside the meeting place. It shows you how to facilitate the girls doing their own planning.
*  Outdoor Skills Course: This course teaches all the outdoor skill sets you need to learn (and teaches you how to facilitate your girls learning those skill sets) to go camping.

 Register on CORA!

Troop Camp Certification is offered in a variety of formats:

* You can take Planning and Prep and Outdoor Skills as split sessions
* You can take Planning and Prep and Outdoor Skills as an all-in-one day course
* You can take Planning and Prep and Outdoor Skills as an all-in-one overnight course with girls

NOTE: The all-in-one overnight with girls format is a learning experience for adults and girls to learn the skills necessary for camping. It is a unique way of teaching this class, and is not intended to be a PROGRAM.  The troop camp learning experience is critical for the adult who will be in charge of a camping trip, therefore it is REQUIRED that the girls who attend with adults to this class are ready for this experience. Girls must be able to be independent of their adults at times during this course.

Because this is an adult class that girls can attend there is a minimum number of girls to adults- 1 adult for four (4) girls. ALL adults who attend must be registered Girl Scouts and have completed the volunteer application and background check. All adults are expected to complete the prerequisites and participate in the entire course.
